The BCWAS is delighted to announce our 2018 fall dinner! We are lucky enough to be able to enjoy two of our favourites together – the delicious wines of Fairview Cellars and the also-delicious food of Provence Marinaside. Fairview Cellars is the culmination of a life long quest of Bill Eggert’s to own and operate his own winery. The 10-acre property, located adjacent to the first green of the Fairview Mountain Golf Course, was purchased by Bill in 1989. The vineyard was started in 1993, and the first commercial vintage was in 1997. Half the property was planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, and most of the rest is Cabernet Franc and Merlot. One row of Syrah and one row of Petit Verdot were added later, and Sauvignon Blanc was planted in 2007. Bill will be joining us, and – let your inner wine geek celebrate - he’ll be bringing along some very cool wines, including the 2007 Sauvignon Blanc, 2012 Two Hoots Red Blend under two different screwcap closures, and the 2005 Cabernet Franc and the 2004 Bear Meritage under both cork and screwcap.
